NAIOP Gives Back to the Community

Members of NAIOP take away great relationships, education and influence over legislative events. But, just as important, NAIOP gives back to the Northeast Florida community through charitable events and countless volunteer hours.

NAIOP Community ServiceAs a professional trade organization, NAIOP demonstrates a strong commitment to the Greater Jacksonville community. Each year NAIOP and its members contribute money, food, volunteer hours - you name it - to help those in need. While the programs and events may change from year to year, NAIOP is unyeilding in their commitment to better the lives of the fellow Floridians.

Here is a sample of past activities where NAIOP members have made a difference:

Dreams Come True is an organization that makes dreams come true for children battling life-threatening illnesses. Our members come together to create Easter baskets for the Dreams Come True children and their siblings. In 2010 we successfully collected and delivered over 80 baskets in NE Florida.

Our members reward the children of the MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation by hosting a cookout at the end of the school year for their mentors and family. This foundation promotes academic achievement and positive life skills in Jacksonville youth through the game of tennis.

The Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Florida is an organization that enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. In support of this organization we provide lunch and host an outing for the children involved with our local club. Additionally, NAIOP has taken the kids bowling & attended a local minor league baseball game.

The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. In support of this organization we hold a stock the pantry drive and our members come together to host a dinner for the families staying at the home.

Our chapter supports the American Diabetes Association by participating in their Walk on the Wild Side event. This event encourages NAIOP members to get involved and raise individual donations to support the organization. The ADA then hosts a walk and celebration at the zoo for the participants as a reward for all of their hard work.

NAIOP hosts a Holiday party complete with dinner and Santa for the residents of the Pine Castle Home whose mission is to enrich the lives of adults with developmental and acquired disabilities. Our members purchase gifts for the residents and participate in serving the dinner and interacting with the residents at the party.
