This is the first of three “Lunch & Learn” events that are a part of the DL Council’s Education Program. Each of the luncheons will be hosted by a mentor/mentee pairing and will focus on a specific topic relating to the mentors’ area of expertise. The first event will be hosted by Jack Allen, President of Allen Group, Inc. and Mitigation Solutions, Inc., and David Smith, Project Manager with Elkins Constructors, Inc. The program will focus on the site selection and site analysis process, including due diligence for site selection, permitting processes, site development terminology, and soil testing reports. Mr. Allen is an expert in real estate transactions, land development, permitting, financial analysis, and wetland mitigation. In addition to his brokerage firm of Allen Land Group, Inc., Mr. Allen is President of Mitigation Solutions Inc. which established Florida’s first totally private mitigation bank in 1995. Mr. Smith has a broad range of commercial construction experience, having worked with several national, regional, and local clients on projects throughout the states of Florida and Georgia. Much of Mr. Smith’s experience has included managing complete site development activities through pricing, permitting, and execution for clients such as Wal-Mart Stores, Inc, Lowe’s Home Improvement, and Publix Super Markets. Mr. Allen and Mr. Smith look forward to sharing their knowledge and experience with NAIOP members to discuss these topics at the upcoming luncheon.
